The What If … Diamonds has grown up. I’m now knitting the Kid’s Diamond Pullover for big kids like you and me. The Diamond neckline is formed by moving the standard raglan markers to be equidistant which forms a V in the front and back. Is this the easiest way to make a V-neck or what?
I know this works because the Kid’s Diamond Pullover works. It’s great to try out new ideas on little people sweaters. They are so quick.
As I was knitting the yoke there was just enough plain knitting between the markers for my mind to start wandering. I wondered if I could get a better fitting shoulder on the cap sleeves? Could I make it less pointy?
I think this is working and I think I like it, maybe. The Great Divide is coming up soon. Then I will be really happy or very frustrated as I rip back. How come I never seem to get any closer to the stitch count I need? Where are those stitches going?
As I near the bottom of the yoke I’m distracting myself with more ideas. What if … the diamond was turned 90 degrees? What would that produce?
This was way too tantalizing an idea for me to leave alone. Yes, I CAST ON for another sweater. Stay tuned. The ideas are still coming in fast and furious. I’m knitting as fast as I can.
