The May long weekend is here. Does it take you away from knitting and guide your thinking toward your home and surrounds? Maybe the weekend urges you to do a little outside work in the garden or to look at long neglected tasks that could be done now that it’s spring.
I decided to paint my front door. It’s time. Off we went to the paint store to choose colours. That’s lots of fun right there. All those paint chips. How about this colour? Or wait, what about that one?
I got right to it, sanded the door and put on the first coat. Then rewarded myself with some knitting because, hey, I deserved it. And what did I find? It seems that I didn’t leave my knitting behind even when thinking about painting.
Have I mentioned that I love this burnt orange colour of Mineville DK? Just love, love, love it. And I’m going to love my new door colour once it’s got a couple more coats of paint on it.

Your a funy Gal, if you love it then it was ment to be. I am just trying to make my wrap in the short rows look normal when I pick up the wrap knitting back across the row. So far I am, trying the normal way (English) then German, next Japanese ways to see what style I prefer. I am knitting a potato chip scarf pattern. have a great day painting Deb! Enjoy!

You are so right Deb. We are influenced by colour every day, by our clothes, our surroundings in our homes, the linens, our cars, etc. I feel sorry for those that want plain white kitchens, and black or grey vehicles, how unexciting.
Colours affect our moods and what better way to create some happiness by wearing the colours that excite the senses. And better yet to be able to knit your own clothing and accessories, a boost for ones self esteem. The process of the soft coloured yarn running through your fingers is a delight for the senses. I love to knit and share the idea that knitting is comforting and good for the soul. I think they should teach knitting in school as a mandatory skill. I feel so lucky that my mother taught me to knit.
