Sometimes frogging has to be done

I didn’t block my shawl, I just put it on a really long cable and … it’s definitely too curvy.

So here we go. Rip, rip, rip. Turn away if this is too painful!

While I was merrily ripping away, I decided to take the stripes out too. More ripping but now it’s done.

I thought about the adjustment and here we go again. It’s so difficult to knit with your fingers crossed!

I’m liking the sharp colour change and I’m happy with the curve now. Totally worth the frogging. But … I would like wider wedges. I’d like more texture knitting and a little less garter stitch. So back to ripping again. Let’s see if this yarn can take it. Onward.

    1. This is my way but lots of designers are better at thinking things through before they start knitting. I’m afraid I’m not one of them, ha, ha. Nothing wrong with being a follower. I do that too It’s definitely more relaxing.

  2. I like to design shawls by knitting them in miniature first – really it’s just a glorified swatch. It’s fun and fast and helps me make decisions early in the process. But I am totally on board with what you are doing now. As long as the yarn doesn’t get destroyed, frogging is fine.

    1. I seem to be way too impatient to swatch like that. It is a much smarter way to go.
      I’m impressed with the yarn. It’s holding up really well.

  3. I often find the pain of frogging is worth it for the better results in the long run. Of course, I knit because it gives me distraction from severe pain and I would knit with string and twigs if I had to, LOL! I’m the same way when I sew. If you’re dissatisfied mid project you’re likely to be dissatisfied when you’re done if you dont give yourself a re-do. That shawl does look lovely — I love your choice of colours!
